AZ Oudenaarde chooses one digital health record with Nexuzhealth

AZ Oudenaarde has selected Nexuzhealth as its partner for the further digitalization of its care processes. Through this collaboration, the hospital joins a growing community of 41 healthcare institutions using the centralized electronic health record (EHR) from Flanders’ largest EHR provider.

The decision aligns with AZ Oudenaarde’s strategic vision to continuously invest in quality, innovation, and patient-centered care. With Nexuzhealth, the hospital can streamline its administrative and clinical processes, collaborate more closely with general practitioners, and ensure continuity of care within and beyond its walls. This choice also supports the ongoing integration with the hospital in Ronse, which already works with the centralized electronic health record. By adopting the same digital platform, AZ Oudenaarde ensures a smooth and transparent exchange of patient information between both institutions — with the highest standards of data protection.

One digital record as a catalyst for a successful merger

he decision to adopt a single, centralized electronic health record (EHR) provides a strategic advantage within the merger process. Working on the same digital platform reduces operational complexity and frees up more time for quality care. Nexuzhealth supports this merger by offering a unified, secure, and intuitive digital workspace where care teams can collaborate efficiently across institutions. As a result, every patient benefits from one coherent, transparent, and accessible care record — regardless of where they receive treatment.

“With the collaboration with Nexuzhealth, we’re taking an important step forward in our digital care strategy,” says Koen Merchiers, Policy Officer for Application Management and Data Management at AZ Oudenaarde. “The transparent and secure exchange of information between care providers strengthens our mission to deliver the best possible care for every patient, at every stage.”

One digital health record for professionals and patients

The centralized EHR provides healthcare professionals with an integrated and secure environment to manage medical data, follow up on care pathways, and share information easily — both across institutions and within hospital departments.

The solution supports healthcare organizations on three levels:

In doing so, Nexuzhealth brings together medical, administrative, and organizational processes into one digital ecosystem that strengthens collaboration and elevates care quality.
For patients, this means they can actively engage in their own healthcare journey through the secure Mynexuzhealth portal, gaining deeper insight into their health data. They have access anytime, anywhere to medical reports, test results, invoices, imaging, and more. General practitioners and other external caregivers can also collaborate directly with the hospital through Nexuzhealth Consult, further enhancing care continuity.

“We are proud to welcome AZ Oudenaarde to the growing Nexuzhealth community. With this partnership, we reinforce our shared ambition to transform healthcare in Belgium into a digital and patient-centered model built on safety and efficiency,” says Maarten De Gruyter, Business Line Director Hospital at Nexuzhealth. “Today, over 1.5 million patients already use the Mynexuzhealth portal to actively participate in their care journey — a great example of how technology can strengthen collaboration.”
